Bird exists to bring new and innovative design to the world of racket sport. Designed and manufactured in the UK the Bird shuttlecocks aim to provide never before seen performance as an answer to the difficult ethical issues concerning feather shuttlecock production.
Managing Director, Gordon Willis, brings over 30 years of design and management experience in volume production and high tech industries. He is the creator of the revolutionary Bird2 shuttlecock and has a passion for design and product quality and continuous improvement of both. He set up Bird Design in 2007 in order to resolve the huge gap in performance between nylon and feather shuttlecocks and now has a range of new products and patents he wants to roll out under the Bird brand.
Commercial Manager, Steve Lambert, brings 20 years of international business experience across leisure and retail. As Managing Director of Newmarket International he has recently managed the sale of this software and technology business and now joins Bird with a view to growing the business and brand internationally.
Steve and Gordon have known each other for nearly fifteen years and Bird2 is the first product of what will be an expanding range initially focused on badminton but growing into other racket sports. Steve can't match Gordon on a badminton court focusing on Triathlon.
